Common Mistakes & How to Fix Them

    Overheating the soap base

Heat in 30-second intervals, never boil. Overheating creates bubbles and ruins texture.

    Adding too much fragrance oil

Follow 1% rule: 1 oz fragrance per 1 lb base. Too much causes sweating and irritation.

    Unmolding too early

Wait until completely cool and firm (4-6 hours). Rushing causes dents and breaks.

    Not spraying with alcohol

Spray 91% isopropyl alcohol on surface to pop bubbles and help layers adhere.

    Storage Tips

    • Wrap finished soaps in plastic wrap to prevent "sweating" in humid conditions
    • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
    • Use within 1 year for best quality (no expiration if stored properly)
    • Label with date made and ingredients for reference
